Top GOP Donor Sheldon Adelson: Trump Ignored My Email And I’m DONE (TWEETS/VIDEO)

Misery usually loves company, but not this week. This week, even Republican megadonor Sheldon Adelson seems to have limits, and Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and his antics just went way over the line, according to CNN.

Adelson reportedly decided to pull not just his spoken support of Trump and his campaign for president, but he pulled his monetary support as well, in favor of races Adelson knows Republicans can win.

All because of a damn email, according to Talking Points Memo, and Trump’s unwillingness to reign in what Adelson calls:

“…Counter productive attacks on the media.”

Initially promising up to $100 million to the Trump Campaign, today, Adelson now sees Trump as a lost cause. He’s had quite enough of Trump’s antics, and only sank just over $25 million into Trump’s campaign in total, according to TPM.

Adelson’s turning point wasn’t Trump’s brash debate performance during which he promised to hold democracy hostage, or even the Al Smith Dinner during which Trump received boos from the audience for calling his rival Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton corrupt, and saying she “hates Catholics.”

What was it that has Adelson financing what he considers the more winnable Congressional races instead?

Ignoring Advisers Isn’t Bliss

According to Fox Business, Adelson emailed Trump to suggest that he not attack fellow Republicans such as House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.). Instead, the report says, Adelson directed Trump to focus on the issues at hand.

We all know how the debate went, which makes it more than obvious that Trump ignored Adelson’s advice. That was the insult that broke Adelson’s back.

In addition to ignoring Adelson, Trump has continued to ignore those who are closest to him.

According to Fox Business:

Trump doesn’t listen to anyone—not even his family or Steve Bannon.”

Trump went on a tear during the debate, blaming the media for his bad poll numbers, and for “rigging the election.” Doing the exact the opposite as Adelson suggested will cost him.

Trump’s ongoing willful ignorance and unwillingness to heed his advisers’ advice has been a huge sticking point for the Trump camp since the ouster of ex-manager Corey Lewandowski, who always allowed Trump to do what he wanted.

When Steve Bannon took over, it was largely expected that he’d reign in Trump and his antics, but Bannon quickly embraced Trump’s antics that keeps his supporters happy, and Trump happier.

So instead of continuing to try to talk Trump into running a campaign that heir-Drumph obviously wants nothing to do with, Adelson is instead turning to the candidates he thinks Republicans actually have a chance at winning.

Sinking 1.2 million into Arizona Senator and former Republican presidential nominee John McCain and his embattled Senate seat after being so outspoken against Trump seems to definitely preclude Trump from seeing any future Adelson dollars.

Karma’s a bitch, isn’t it?
