Trump Whines That Hillary Supporters Are The Real Deplorables (TWEET)

We all expected Donald Trump to go into one of his classic Twitter meltdowns when Alec Baldwin sent him up for the fifth time on “Saturday Night Live.” But when he finally picked up his phone on Sunday, it wasn’t to go after Baldwin. Nope, it was to attack Hillary Clinton’s supporters for their supposedly deplorable behavior in the aftermath of his upset victory.

Trump fired off a similar message to his Facebook followers.

You mean to tell me that Trump doesn’t know about the union leader who was bombarded with death threats after calling out Trump for his lies about saving jobs in Indiana? It’s hard to believe he didn’t know, since a number of Trump supporters took a rebuttal from Trump himself as a signal to attack. And you mean to tell me that he doesn’t know about how some bottom-feeder vandalized an ethnically diverse church in Maryland with signs saying “Trump Nation, Whites Only”? And you mean to tell me that he doesn’t know a Trump supporter deliberately caused one of Trump’s largest media gadflies, Kurt Eichenwald, to get a seizure? And on, and on, and on.

Have Hillary supporters gone over the line at times? Yes. But when they have, it has been strongly condemned on both sides of the spectrum. Case in point–when video surfaced of a crowd violently beating a Chicago man because he was supposedly a Trump supporter, Hillary supporters loudly denounced this for the criminal act that it was, unequivocally and without any prodding. Likewise, when someone held a “Rape Melania” sign at a protest outside Trump’s swank hotel near the White House, he was immediately confronted–and presumably, told to leave.

We knew Trump lives in an alternate universe. After all, he not only believes he defeated Hillary in a landslide, but that the Obama administration pulled a false flag to make it look like Russian hackers tried to influence the election. But even by Trump’s standards, this is really, really dense. Maybe we should refresh Trump’s memory on Twitter and on Facebook. But politely, of course. Remember, when Trump and his band of thugs go low, we go high.
