We witnessed a very historic moment this week. I’ve watched her speech multiple times now and I’m so excited to vote for her in November. People of all ages are expressing their excitement for Hillary Clinton.
Many ladies have been waiting decades to finally be able to vote for a female president.
Fox News analyst, Brit Hume, made a very sexist comment about her after the speech though. He had to insult her tone of voice. He said that she has a “lecturing tone,” and he thinks it makes people feel like they are in “the principal’s office.” He said:
“She has a habit, when speaking, of breaking into kind of a sharp, lecturing tone. It makes you feel a little bit like you’ve been called into the principal’s office to be read the riot act.”
“[Hillary Clinton] has a great asset as a public person, which is a radiant smile, but she has a not-so-attractive voice.”
Would he be saying that for a male candidate? Donald Trump’s voice is not angelic, or nice, or “attractive.” He’s an orange talking Cheeto. His lips also pucker a bit when he talks, so it can look a bit creepy sometimes.
Enough about the Donald though. This is a hugely historic moment and that is all they said about it? I would understand if they were talking about how they don’t like her ideas, but they must not have any great arguments against her.
Of course Donald Trump had to weigh in on this ridiculous attempt at insulting Hillary Clinton:
Crooked Hillary Clinton made up facts about me, and "forgot" to mention the many problems of our country, in her very average scream!

This is obviously a sexist double standard, and some Twitter users agree:
Last week the Republican nominee yelled at us for over an hour but tomorrow we'll wake up to so many stories about Hillary's voice

Hillary shouting her speech. She has the floor; a more conversational tone might be better for connecting with folks at home

At least some news outlets are talking about her actual speech.
National Public Radio (NPR) actually reported on the words Clinton said:
“Clinton’s speech was not soaring like speeches Democrats have grown accustomed to with President Obama. Instead, Clinton gave a speech grounded in specific policy proposals: She promised to overturn Citizens United — ‘with a constitutional amendment if necessary’ — and reform the criminal justice system. She promised to fight for a living wage, tuition-free college for the poor, equal pay for women, comprehensive immigration reform, gun control, and to make Wall Street and corporations ‘pay their fair share’ in taxes.”
Clinton gave a beautiful speech highlighting many of the issues that she wants to address when she is elected. She went into some more details with her speech:
“It’s true I sweat the details of policy – whether we’re talking about the exact level of lead in the drinking water in Flint, Michigan, the number of mental facilities in Iowa, or the cost of your prescription drugs.”
Here’s Hume’s “professional” analysis of Clinton’s speech:
