The mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, is no friend to Republicans or Fox News. When Fox News was covering Paris after the attacks, they made false claims about Muslims “taking over” the city. She is suing the network because of these remarks.
A little more recently, she had some not-so-nice words to say about Republican front-runner, Donald Trump. She blatantly said:
“Donald Trump is stupid. My God he’s stupid. My God.”
In May, Trump said that London Mayor Sadiq Khan would be an exception to the “no Muslims in America” rule that Trump proposed. Of course, he also said he’d make exceptions for his rich Saudi business partners.
Trump has not been a fan of France since the terrorist attacks. He tweeted this about the country’s gun laws:

Hidalgo is also making headlines for building refugee camps in the northern outskirts of Paris. These camps, which will open in about 6 weeks’ time, will not only provide shelter for migrants and refugees, but they will eventually be turned into housing for those refugees who don’t have anything.
Donald Trump is calling for banning refugees in our country. He recently retweeted a political cartoon of himself sending refugees back to Syria. He said that they are mostly men who look like they could be soldiers, but statistics show that most of these people are women and children. Trump also wants to bring back torturing to be used on these people.
Trump should look to Anne Hidalgo for how to treat these refugees. She had this to say about the issue:
“I hear people say won’t this act as a magnet. But I think of other countries, like Germany, where they have created conditions to welcome hundreds of thousands of migrants in dignified conditions. We must do the same by taking the full measure of this migrant flow that is flooding Europe. Paris will not sit idly by while the Mediterranean becomes a graveyard for refugees.”
