Out Of The Bathroom: President Bush Paints World Leaders

george bush paintings

This Saturday in Dallas patrons of the arts will have the rare opportunity to see portraits of world leaders captured on canvas as only former president George Bush can apply paint to flat surfaces.

We were exposed to the news of Bush taking up painting after his two terms as president when we saw his seminal works; him looking at himself in a mirror while standing in the shower, and his wrinkled, pink toes poking through the surface of his bath water. Now, we are offered the chance to glimpse through his eyes – and his brush – at a gallery of world leaders and influential people he remembers forming relationships with when he was president of the United States.

If you’re in Dallas this Saturday, or plan on visiting Texas between now and June 3rd, you too can look at portraits of Tony Blair, The Dalai Lama, Stephen Harper, Vladimir Putin, and many others at the special exhibit being held at the George Bush Presidential Center.
