Pope Francis has done more to bring the Catholic Church into the modern millennia than any other Pope in history. He has made proclamations regarding capitalism, hell, Adam and Eve, poverty, Evangelical Christians, homosexuality and abortion. To say that these have rocked the world may be understated.
He has been dubbed ?The People’s Pope? and he was named 2013 Person of the Year for both Time magazine and The Advocate, a gay rights magazine.
However, during Sunday’s weekly address, he proved just how ?real world? he is when he dropped an f-bomb. According to NPR, whether it was slip of the tongue, or not, people noticed. Granted, being 77 AND a native speaker of Spanish, not Italian, it could have been a simple gaffe.
Here’s hoping that it proves exactly how real world this Pope is, and that while semantics matter, they shouldn’t overshadow the message.
