Is China Putting Wi-Fi Chips Into Electronics So They Can Spy On Us?

CBS Moneywatch reported on a Russian news story about Chinese made home electronics goods that came with a little something extra- hidden wi-fi chips that could hack into home networks.

Paranoid folks (okay, me) have been saying for years that it would be stupid to think that the Chinese who make the chips that go in our phones and computers would not build “back doors” into those same systems and that the Chinese data collection world-wide probably rivals that of the NSA with a much lower cost. This is because we, the consumers, actually go out and buy the iSpy phones, computers, laptops, tablets, televisions, etc. ?But even in my most tin foil hat, build a bunker, conspiracy theory induced mania did I ever imagine this latest source of electronic surveillance:

Your iron, your electric kettle, hell, it may by ANYTHING with a plug and made in China! And yes that would include the new wi-fi enabled sex toys they are currently shipping ?over for the Christmas rush.

So maybe we should all just go with the “wrinkled” look from now on.

Otherwise, we might wind up falling for their wretched one party system or something awful like that.
