On the last leg of his visit to Asia, President Trump arrived in Vietnam on Friday, and just the irony of that was more than enough to start up chatter on social media.
Trump, you may recall, avoided service in Vietnam because a doctor gave him a medical excuse: Bone spurs in his feet. Oddly, however, years later Trump couldn’t recall which foot the bone spurs were in. And that was the subject of many of the tweets that came his way the second he landed in Vietnam:
I'm surprised the President was able to make it to Vietnam on this trip, considering his debilitating bone spurs.

It took him forty years, but Donald Trump finally made it to Vietnam.

Hope you don't have any Vietnam flashbacks to all those frat parties & intramural badminton at Penn.
The PTSD must be unbearable.#bunions https://t.co/gIsDrn7aik

Donald Trump is spending Veteran’s Day in #Vietnam without a hint of irony.#VeteransDay

Trump finally visiting Vietnam on Veterans Day is Oliver Stone levels of on-the-nose.

2.7 million Americans served in the Vietnam War. My father was one of them. He didn't have bone spurs, but he and his fellow troops had their innocence ripped from them and they'd do it again in the name of patriotism. F you & your bone spurs, pitiful @POTUS. #VeteransDay2017

Oh, and we’re still waiting for Donnie to explain to all of us why exactly he thinks he’s entitled to travel the world on our dime when there’s a very good chance he wasn’t legitimately elected president. Of course, none of us will hold our breath.
