Former Sanders Supporter Says He Voted For Trump Because He Sounded ‘Progressive-ish’ (VIDEO)

A Michigan man who initially supported Bernie Sanders in the 2016 race for the White House now admits that he eventually cast his ballot for Donald Trump, and, as a result:

“I kinda feel dumb, honestly.”

Jason DeFrain, speaking to MSNBC correspondent Nicolle Wallace as part of a report on how Michiganders who voted for Trump feel at the 100-day mark of the administration, said it was Trump’s rhetoric which convinced him to vote for the GOP nominee instead of Sanders:

“He has answers, sometime we don’t like them, sometime he offends the crap out of people. But he has answers.”

Now, however, DeFrain admits that he deeply regrets choosing Trump:

“I feel like I was bamboozled. I really do. Jeez, he fooled me, and I kinda feel dumb. I feel mad and I kinda feel dumb, honestly.”

Oddly, DeFrain said he thought much of what Trump said on the campaign trail was “progressive-ish,” and he added:

“He was really open, willing to work with both sides of the fence. Then more Russian stuff started piling up, he’s saying he’s being wire-tapped, he’s on Twitter says this about this person….”

The Michigan man also revealed that his biggest fear is that Trump will get the country involved in a war:

“I don’t want to see a news special of a Saginaw teenager brought home in a casket with a flag over it. I think he’s just going to put more people in danger now. We’re going to invade another country, the way he’s acting. it’s going to happen. We’re going to put more boots on the ground and I thought that wasn’t going to happen. That’s one of the reasons why I voted for him. He’s putting us in danger and I’m worried about the future of my family.”
