Trump Threatens Government Shutdown If He Doesn’t Get Money To Build His Idiotic Wall (VIDEO)

Federal agencies are preparing for a partial government shutdown after President Donald Trump indicated he wouldn’t accept a budget without money for his stupid Mexican wall. This week marks the end of the federal financial year, and every year it seems like one party or the other threatens a government shutdown over some idiocy. This year, it’s the president!

While the Trump White House is insisting that it plans to come to some sort of agreement with Congress before the April 29th deadline, its demanding tone is off-putting to many members of the House. Mick Mulvaney, Trump’s director of Office of Management and Budget, said on Thursday that Democrats will be forced to accept some of Trump’s demands, including money for that insane border wall he’s planning along the southern border.

Democrats aren’t pleased. Matt House, spokesman for Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York, responded to the demands with:

“Everything had been moving smoothly until the administration moved in with a heavy hand.”

So much for cooperation.

Despite being the minority in both houses, Democrats do hold some leverage when it comes to budget negotiations. The Freedom Caucus continues to be a thorn in Donald Trump’s side, meaning he will lack the proper votes for passage in the House. And in the Senate, the Republicans are expected to be about eight votes short of the 60 needed to pass a budget.

Even Republicans are prickling at Trump’s strong-arm tactics regarding budget negotiation. Senator Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) doesn’t seem to be interested in taking direction:

“The administration’s budget isn’t going to be the budget… We do the budget here. The administration makes recommendations, but Congress does budgets.”

So it seems like Trump’s first budget proposal, which he named “America First: A Budget Blueprint to Make America Great Again” (seriously), doesn’t seem to be taking off.

What happened to the art of the deal, Donald?
