Among the many insane statements Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump made at last night’s debate was this one about Japan and nuclear weapons.
‘There’s No Quote’
At one point in the debate, Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton mentioned that Trump had said he thought Japan should have — and perhaps use — nuclear weapons to defend themselves.
Trump’s response to that?
“Look, she’s been proven to be a liar on [sic] so many different ways. This is just another lie.”
Clinton said, “Well, I’m just quoting you -” and Trump interrupted with:
“There’s no quote. You’re not going to find a quote from me.”
You LIE, Mr. Trump!
Trump lying is nothing new. He lies more than any other candidate that is or has been a part of this election.
This time, however, it was a bit different.
He DID say that he thought Japan should build up their nuclear weapons program. He DID say he thought they should consider using nuclear weapons against North Korea.
And he said it to the debate moderator himself, Chris Wallace.
Trump appeared on Wallace’s Fox News show on April 3, and said:
“So, North Korea has nukes. Japan has a problem with that. I mean, they have a big problem with that. Maybe they would be better off if they defend themselves fro North Korea–“
Wallace cut in, saying, “With nukes?”
Trump said:
“Including with nukes, yes, including with nukes.”
Trump seems to forget that these tapes don’t just magically disappear after the show ends.
This isn’t the first time he’s lied about that April interview. At a Sacramento, CA rally in June, he said:
“… They said I want Japan to get nuclear weapons. Give me a break.”
Except, that’s exactly what you said, Mr. Trump.
