Ben Carson, it would appear, is, like much of the far right, fond of conspiracy theories. But his latest may just be the one that places him in a category all by himself.

Speaking on a radio show yesterday, this is what Carson said regarding why he has now requested Secret Service protection as he continues his quest for the GOP nomination in 2016:

“I’d prefer not to talk about security issues but I have recognized — and people have been telling me for many, many months — that I’m in great danger, because I challenge the secular progressive movement to the very core. You know, they see me as an existential threat but I also believe in the good Lord and we take reasonable precautions.”

Secular progressives? Really? Are you kidding me, Doc?

Let’s just take a look at some recent numbers released by the Department of Justice. This chart clearly shows where the greatest threats in the United States come from:

Well what do you know. The biggest threats come from right wing extremists, not those on the left. In other words, it’s a lot more likely that some KKK or neo-Nazi nutjob POS will want to try and threaten Carson than anyone who is on the left in this country. Wonder why he neglected to mention them? Perhaps because some of them are part of the core constituency of the Republican Party.

What Carson and others in the GOP fear most from progressives and liberals in this country is our willingness to call them out for their bullshit which they often try to cloak under the umbrella of Christianity and refusing to be politically correct. Since they believe the media is controlled by liberals, they love nothing more than to pretend they are “under attack” because they have been caught in one of their incredibly ignorant statements/lies.

I have some advice for Ben Carson, and it comes from a Democratic President who wasn’t afraid to speak his mind, Harry Truman:

“If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.”
