BLOOD ON THEIR HANDS: NRA Funded $10,000 Towards Training Nikolas Cruz To Be Better Marksman

Following last week’s the horrific school shooting which left 17 innocent people dead, many have been quick to blame the National Rifle Association (NRA) for fueling the gun addicted sub-culture that played a part in the tragedy. However, a new report shows how the NRA played a more direct role by funding a program that the alleged shooter, Nikolas Cruz, used to help shapen his “marksmanship” skills.

In  September 2016, the NRA, as part of their ongoing multimillion-dollar effort to spread the propaganda of their so-called “Second Amendment” gun cult, donated $10,0827 in “non-cash assistance” to Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School’s Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) Marksmanship team.  The same school Cruz visited on Valentine’s day 2018 with an AR-style assault rifle to show his “skills” off to his unsuspecting former classmates.

Cruz, who was expelled from the school for undisclosed “disciplinary reasons,”  was a decorated member of the JROTC in 2016. Aaron Diener, Cruz’s former classmate, and fellow JROTC Marksmanship team member said that Cruz was very much at home shooting assault rifles.

“He was a very good shot. He had an AR-15 he talked about, and pistols he had shot. … He would tell us, ‘Oh, it was so fun to shoot this rifle’ or ‘It was so fun to shoot that.’ It seemed almost therapeutic to him, the way he spoke about it.”

After receiving the NRA’s generous “gift,” the school’s JROTC Marksmanship team was quick to take to twitter and show their heartfelt appreciation for their benevolent benefactors. In a Tweet from September 21, 2016, the team tweeted:

“MSD JROTC Marksmanship team would like to thank the NRA for their grateful donation of nearly $10,000 to upgrade and replenish equipment!”

Unfortunately, the school made the team’s tweet private shortly after the press tied Cruz to the program.

However, the NRA’s website proudly brags about “Investing in the next generation of America’s leaders, a significant majority of The NRA Foundation grants support youth shooting sports programs.” ThinkProgress notes, “The NRA Foundation operates the Friends of the NRA program, which raises money for youth shooting sports as a way of recruiting young activists to fight gun regulation.”

And let’s not forget those DC puppets who also took generous “gifts” from the NRA.

Cruz was arrested last Wednesday wearing a maroon polo shirt with the symbol of his former high school’s JROTC program. It’s unclear at this time of Cruz was also a member of the NRA. Cruz is facing 17 counts of premeditated murder in what’s become known as the ninth most deadly mass shooting in modern U.S. history.

Meanwhile, the NRA has yet to comment on Cruz’s status within it’ organization.
