Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russia’s effort to hack the election isn’t proceeding like a typical slow-motion strangulation. After all, he’s already former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn to not only flip, but wear a wire. He’s also looking very closely at Donald Trump Jr.’s infamous meeting in Trump Tower–a gathering that could potentially put Donald Jr., Jared Kushner, and possibly even Ivanka Trump in legal doo-doo.
But it’s possible that Mueller might be able to get very deep inside the White House. And he might have a person who was one of Trump’s loudest cheerleaders to thank for it–Omarosa.
For some time since being pushed out of the West Wing, Omarosa has hinted that she has some stories to tell. For instance, she was not on board with how the White House responded to the carnage in Charlottesville.
Now the New York Daily News reports that Omarosa recorded secret West Wing discussions on her iPhone. Apparently those recordings concerned her enough to make her scout out lawyers in the event Mueller wants to talk to her.
According to one source close to the situation, it’s no secret that Omarosa “loves to record people and meetings,” and it’s very likely that she has recordings of “everyone in that White House, past and present staffers included.” That same source revealed that Omarosa’s penchant for recording conversations was what led to the recent ban on personal cell phones in the West Wing–indicating that it would have come down regardless of the release of Michael Wolff’s “Fire and Fury.”
If it does turn out that Omarosa has recordings, they could potentially be the most prized recordings made in the White House since the Nixon tapes.
There would also be a bit of irony. If you’ll remember, in 2016 Omarosa declared that we were all going to bow down to Trump if he won. No, this isn’t snark.

Now it looks like the woman who warned that we would be bowing down to Trump could–and let’s emphasize at this point, could–potentially help bring Trump down.
