Now that President Trump has weighed in on the Senate race in Alabama, excusing the actions of Republican candidate Roy Moore, looks as if voters will have to cross over and vote for a Democrat or give their support to a man who is accused of sexually molesting a 14-year-old girl.
What more can be said about this already sordid chapter in American history? You might think there’s nothing left to say, but a caller on C-SPAN managed to blow that idea right out of the water.
On Wednesday’s edition of Washington Journal, host Greta Brawner said that Patrick from Pennsylvania was calling in to make a comment on the race in Alabama. Patrick said:
“I would like to talk about Roy Moore. And I don’t know why these women don’t just say that he exposed himself and he had a tiny little…”
Click! There went Patrick. Brawner then announced:
“Moving on to Dave.”
But Patrick’s right in so many ways. Maybe we do need to try and shame Roy Moore in any possible way. Might one of the reasons Moore is so fond of young girls who have no experience be that they cannot laugh at just how minuscule he is? That would explain a lot, wouldn’t it?
So to Patrick in Pennsylvania, we say thank you. It needed to be said, and you said it loudly and proudly.
