While Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore continues to deny allegations made last week by an Alabama woman who says more molested her when she was only 14, another woman has now come forward and is accusing Moore of trying to rape her when she was 16 years old.
During a press conference with attorney Gloria Allred, Beverly Young Nelson said that Moore attempted to force himself on her when he offered her a ride in his car.
Specifically, Nelson said that while in Moore’s car, he began groping and feeling her breasts. When she attempted to exit the vehicle, Moore locked her door, Nelson recalled.
Moments later, according to Nelson, Moore:
“Began squeezing my neck attempting to force my head into his crotch.”
When she continued to resist his advances, Nelson said, Moore relented and gave up. But he also urged her not to tell anyone what had happened. She recalled Moore warning her:
“You are a child, I am the district attorney. No one will believe you.”
Nelson, who noted that she voted for Donald Trump, said her coming forward has nothing to do with politics:
“This has nothing to do with Republicans or Democrats. It has everything to do with Mr. Moore’s sexual assault when I was a teenager.”
