Fox News Runs Impeachment Ad, Trumpkin Heads Explode (VIDEO/TWEETS)

As we all know by now, a certain element of the Republican Party regards even mild criticism of Donald Trump to be borderline treasonous. A lovely example of this mentality came on Monday morning. A number of Trump diehards were up in arms at the sight of an ad calling for Trump’s impeachment on both Trump and the GOP’s favorite network.

About 15 minutes into Friday’s edition of “Fox & Friends,” the gang on the curvy couch went to break. Viewers then saw this ad funded by hedge fund manager, environmental activist, and Democratic megadonor Tom Steyer.

Steyer slammed Trump for saber-rattling with North Korea, bullying the press, and disregarding the Emoluments Clause and the rule of law. To his mind, it’s a strong case for impeachment. He noted that a Republican-controlled Congress impeached Bill Clinton for “far less” than what Trump has done. He directed viewers to his campaign’s Website, Need to Impeach.

“Fox & Friends” has become Trump’s favorite show since “Morning Joe” disowned him. So when Trump saw this ad, he hit the ceiling.

But even before Trump weighed in, a number of Trump diehards were already hyperventilating on Twitter.

A few threatened to stop watching Fox News if this ad appeared again.

A few thought that the fair and balanced network had sold its soul to the left.

At least one Trump diehard suggested that anyone who could even think of funding this ad must be a Communist.

One other tweet–since deleted–railed about how a “Shlomo” was behind the ad.

For his part, Steyer isn’t backing down. When he saw Trump’s unhinged response, he gave it right back to the Donald.

And hopefully the day will come when they get better.

To understand the outrage from this morning, consider that whenever Fox News shows signs of being an actual journalistic organization, it sets the wingnuts howling. For instance, whenever Shepard Smith dares to criticize Trump, the Trump diehards regularly call for his head.

But then again, those in Deplorableland don’t know that there would have been a big problem had Fox News turned the ad down. It would have been yet more proof that Rupert Murdoch’s sons aren’t really trying to turn this Republican propaganda machine into an actual news organization.
