Even though President Trump may have a bust of the late British Prime Minister Winston Churchill in the Oval Office, it’s quite clear that others in the extended Churchill family don’t care much for the American head of state.
Thursday morning, Trump was on one of his morning tweetstorms, and sent out this:
Just out report: "United Kingdom crime rises 13% annually amid spread of Radical Islamic terror." Not good, we must keep America safe!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 20, 2017
That drew a sharp response from Nicholas Soames, Churchill’s grandson who also happens to be a member of parliament for the Conservative party. Soames perfectly shut down Trump with one simple hashtag in a tweet of his own:

From there, the rest of the Twitterverse took over and gave Trump a strong dose of social media karma:
Not good? The UK is FAR SAFER than the USA (664 homicides in the UK vs 15,696 in the USA). You should look after your own failing country. pic.twitter.com/p0Md4uURIp

please don't mention us in your propaganda, we all hate you here.

Trump wants to denounce Muslims so bad he has to mention statistics in countries halfway across the world.

President of the United States is encouraging more hate crime by his tweets. And he spreads fake news. This account should be suspended.

Wow. So much bollocks spoken about the uk. It was far more dangerous in the days if the IRA than now. People feeding others with fear. Sad

So your message is: We shouldn't stop Muslims entering the country because banning things never works. Got it.

I could find nothing online linking rise in U.K. crime to terrorism other than a spike in Islamophobic hate crimes https://t.co/uzvrgjGDz2

Did you miss what just happened in Vegas? Or the countless number of people killed by guns every single day in your country? Idiot.
— Lux (@Callux) October 20, 2017
Where did you get that report from Donald. Fox? Breitbart? Your arse?
— Jonathan Pie (@JonathanPieNews) October 20, 2017
You can’t punctuate properly and you sure as hell can’t interpret data correctly. Best if you don’t even try, you witless racist.
— Jessica Twentyman (@jtwentyman) October 20, 2017
That increase comes directly from hate crimes against Muslims. Spearheaded by people like you and your “good people.”

500 shot & 59 killed by crazed American terrorist in Las Vegas, but sure, let's point at the UK.
