No matter what he does, who he insults or how many women he grabs by the genitals, President Trump can always count on the intellectually-challenged dullards at Fox News to have his back.
After spending most of the weekend insulting as many sports figures as he could find (all of them, tellingly, being black), Trump doubled down on his disgusting assertion that any professional athlete who refuses to stand while the national anthem is playing should be summarily fired:
If NFL fans refuse to go to games until players stop disrespecting our Flag & Country, you will see change take place fast. Fire or suspend!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 24, 2017
And so, on Fox & Friends Sunday morning, co-host Pete Hegseth weighed in on the matter, and in doing so he proved just how little he knows about American history. Hegseth remarked:
“It’s infected the NFL and the NBA and now we see it happen in Major League Baseball. Look at those 12 [NFL] teams immediately putting out a statement calling the president’s statement divisive!
“I have to ask, what are we kneeling for at this point? Because you talk about social injustice, this is the least sexist, least racist, most free, most equal, most prosperous country in the history of humankind.”
The least racist country in the history of mankind? What about those hundred years or so of slavery, Pete, when it was possible for one human being to own another by virtue of skin color? What about all those years after the Emancipation Proclamation when it was perfectly acceptable to make African-Americans use separate bathrooms and attend substandard schools? Did Pete Hegseth even bother to take a history course while he was in school?
Whether you agree with Trump or the players in this debate, to call the United States the least racist country in history is an insult not only to those who suffered under slavery and segregation, but also to those of us who have taken the time to learn the ugly and at times evil past of this nation.
Here’s Hegseth proving what a complete idiot he is and always will be:
