On Friday, when he wasn’t busy pardoning a racist sheriff or giving the boot to a suspected Nazi serving as an adviser, President Trump also found time to issue a formal directive which bans transgender Americans from serving in the U.S. military.
Trump’s order was met with a wave of criticism from veterans, one of whom, Jen Detlefsen, just so happens to be the daughter of Ryan Zinke, the president’s Secretary of the Interior.
In a posting on Instagram, Detelefsen made it clear that she has no respect for Trump with a post on Instagram:
“This man is a disgrace. I’ve tried to keep politics out of my social media feed as much as possible, but this is inexcusable. This veteran says to sit down and shut the fuck up, you know-nothing, never-served piece of shit.”
See that hashtag Detlefsen used, #itmfa? It stands for “Impeach the Motherfucker already.”
Trump is clearly pandering to the extreme right of his base, which will support him no matter what. But in the process, he’s alienating tens of millions of Americans who think a person’s sexual orientation or gender identity isn’t a disqualifying factor of they want to serve their country.
Donald Trump is a pathetic excuse of a so-called Commander-in-Chief. As Jen Detlefsen noted, the Donald needs to sit down and shut up.
