WATCH: White Nationalist On Heather Heyer’s Death: ‘Shouldn’t Be Standing Out In Traffic’

Our country continues to reel from the disgusting white supremacist gathering in Charlottesville, while more and more continues to surface and, somehow, make things worse. Our own President, Donald Trump, can hardly find it in himself to decry Nazis. He then walked that statement back just a day later, claiming that there were two sides, both with good people and bad people. Regardless of where the blame for violence is placed, it takes a special kind of assh*le to blame a victim who is run over by a terrorist. Yet, somehow, that’s what white nationalist Kyle Hanophy did when asked about Heather Heyer, who was run over and killed while protesting the hate groups in Charlottesville.

First, Hanophy tried to clear his name. When Miami’s CBS affiliate Local 10 interviewed Hanophy, who attended the “Unite the Right” gathering, if he was a neo-Nazi. He responded with:

“I wouldn’t define myself as a neo-Nazi. I would define myself as a white nationalist, maybe.”

For the record, Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines a white nationalist as:

“One of a group of militant whites who espouse white supremacy and advocate enforced racial segregation.”

Which, to me, sounds an awful lot like a neo-Nazi.

The especially sickening part of the interview comes when reporter Amy Viteri asks Hanophy’s thoughts on Heather Heyer. Hanophy says this about Heyer:

“Shouldn’t be standing out in traffic, I suppose.”

Other lowlights come when Hanophy recommends people watch YouTube videos of the killing, his claiming that the events of Charlottesville were “beautiful,” and whining that he has been harassed after he was identified as a part of the event.

I’m sure everyone feels deep sympathy for this neo-Na… excuse me, “white nationalist.” Watch the interview below, and try your best to keep your lunch down.
