Falwell Jr Defends Trump’s Racist Presser: He Has Secret Videos Showing ‘Fine People’ Marching With Nazis

President Donald Trump has had a rough go with his statements regarding Charlottesville – first, he took too long to denounce Nazis, which we all thought was the baseline “easy mode” for Presidents. A few days later, he did decry the white nationalists, but took it back almost immediately, comparing the counter protesters to the neo-Nazis marching down the streets of Virginia. He then claimed that there were good people on “both sides.”

Jerry Falwell, Jr., President of Liberty University and longtime Trump supporter, has decided that President Trump must have some inside information.

Appearing on ABC’s This Week, Falwell tried to defend Trump’s odd comments about the protests in Charlottesville. He suggested:

He has inside information that I don’t have. I don’t know if there were historical purists there who were trying to preserve some statues. I don’t know. But he had information I didn’t have.”

Host Martha Raddatz seemed incredulous about Falwell’s claim. Just like Trump himself loves to do, Falwell doubled down:

I think he saw videos of who was there. I think he was talking about what he had seen, information that he had that I don’t have. All I know is it was pure evil. The media has tried to paint this as Republican versus Democrat, black versus white, Jew versus gentile, but it’s just pure evil versus good.”

It’s a very bizarre debate. Most would argue either that President Trump misspoke, or that he is a racist clod with historical ties to white supremacy and racism. Instead, Falwell doubled down – he insisted that Trump was correct and that part of the crowd carrying Nazi flags were just good-natured historians, trying to help us remember the past.

Just… stop. Stop it.

It truly needs to be seen to be believed. Even Raddatz is not sure what she is dealing with. Watch the piece below:
