NEW POLL: Three-Quarters Of Americans Don’t Believe Anything Trump Says

While President Trump loves to scream “fake news!” anytime he disagrees with something he sees on TV, it turns out the vast majority of Americans think he’s the one trafficking in “alternative facts.”

According to a new poll from CNN, 73 percent of Americans surveyed said they don’t believe what they hear from the Trump White House. A mere 24 percent said they do trust most of what they hear from the administration.

Asked if they approve of the job Trump is doing as president, 38 percent said they do approve, while 56 percent report they disapprove of Trump’s job performance after 200 days in office.

On the job approval numbers, a further breakdown shows that only 24 percent of people strongly approve of Trump, 14 percent moderately approve, 9 percent moderately disapprove, and 47% strongly disapprove.

Has the Trump administration been successful so far? Not according to those who participated in the CNN poll. 36 percent of participants believe Trump’s presidency has been successful, while 59 percent see it as a failure. Only 34 percent say Trump is someone they’re proud to call president, and 55 percent think he’s lowered the stature of the office.

The CNN poll mirrors another recent poll conducted by Quinnipiac, which reported that Trump’s approval rating has slipped to 33 percent nationally, a 70-year low for an American head of state. More concerning for the White House is the fact that Republican support for the president has slipped by 14 points in recent weeks. If that trend continues, Trump could soon be underwater with voters of his own party.
