President Trump, it’s safe to say, has unusual tastes when it comes to elegance and style. He seems to favor marble and gold, along with being fond of plastering his name on every edifice he builds or inhabits.
So perhaps it should come as no surprise that Trump isn’t fond of his current residence, the White House, which is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful buildings in the world.
During a recent visit by Trump to his New Jersey golf club, the president was heard to tell a group of fellow club members that he spends so much of his free time at his properties because:
“That White House is a real dump.”
He also told that same collection of club members:
“This is my real group. You are the special people. I see all of you. I recognize, like, 100% of you, just about.”
The White House, often called “the people’s house,” holds a special place in the hearts of most Americans, and it didn’t take long for social media to respond to Trump’s rude comments:
