Trump Once Again Proves His Complete Ignorance Of Historical Matters

Not long after he was elected president, Donald Trump told Chris Wallace that he reason he rarely bothers with intelligence briefings is simple:

“I don’t have to be told – you know, I’m, like, a smart person. I don’t have to be told the same thing and the same words every single day for the next eight years. It could be eight years – but eight years. I don’t need that.”

Donald Trump thinks he’s a smart person. Yet when he starts to talk about a subject such as history, he quickly proves just how ignorant he really is.

For example: An interview the New York Times published Wednesday evening in which the president pontificated on the subject of Napoleon’s downfall as emperor of France:

“Napoleon finished a little bit bad. His one problem is he didn’t go to Russia that night because he had extracurricular activities, and they froze to death. How many times has Russia been saved by the weather?”

What in the hell does that even mean? Napoleon marched his army into Russia and they did indeed freeze to death, but what is all the nonsense about “extracurricular activities?”

Then Trump tried to make another point about Russia (he’s obsessed with Russia) as he referred to Hitler:

“Same thing happened to Hitler. Not for that reason, though. Hitler wanted to consolidate. He was all set to walk in. But he wanted to consolidate, and it went and dropped to 35 degrees below zero, and that was the end of that army.”

That led to Trump being trolled hard by MSNBC host Joe Scarborough:

Trump then decided to praise the Russian army before he ended by talking about something completely unrelated to the original topic:

“But the Russians have great fighters in the cold. They use the cold to their advantage. I mean, they’ve won five wars where the armies that went against them froze to death. It’s pretty amazing. So, we’re having a good time. The economy is doing great.”

If anyone was still wondering just how stupid Donald Trump is, once again he has provided ample evidence which suggests the average Labrador Retriever is smarter.
