Former Watergate Prosecutor Says Donald Jr. Likely Committed ‘Actual Treason’ (VIDEO)

While the Trump administration’s legal team tries desperately to downplay the fact that the president’s son, Donald Trump Jr., met with a Russian lawyer during the 2016 campaign to obtain potentially damaging information on Hillary Clinton, a former prosecutor in the Watergate investigation warns that Donald Jr. is possibly in very serious legal trouble.

Nick Akerman, who assisted the special prosecutor during Watergate, said on MSNBC Monday morning that Donald Jr.’s meeting with Natalia Veselnitskaya, an attorney who is also linked to the Kremlin, could be incredibly troublesome for the son of the president:

“There’s lots of legal implications. First of all, we have a potential for actual treason. We have Donald Trump Jr., the ‘mini-me’ to the president, who is meeting with a Russian operative, thinking that he’s going to get information on the Hillary Clinton campaign.”

Additionally, the fact that Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and former campaign manager Paul Manafort (who has extensive ties to Russia) is also fishy, Akerman noted:

“Paul Manafort was brought to the dance by none other than Roger Stone, who in August of 2016 admitted that prior he had direct conversations with the Russian hacker and that he was aware of what WikiLeaks was doing. Then on top of all that, you’ve got Jared Kushner, who in June of 2016 — when this very meeting was going on — was put in charge of this whole data program for the Trump campaign.”

The situation is only going to get worse for the White House, Akerman predicted:

“On top of it all, Jared Kushner completely forgot about this meeting when he filled out his application for security clearance, which is totally unbelievable. So there is plenty of smoke here, and I think we’re getting close to the fire.”

And the heat will only increase as new revelations come to light. It would appear that Special Counsel Robert Mueller is going to have one hell of a case against the president, his family, and many of his top associates.
