JUST IN: Jason Chaffetz Already Has A New Gig (VIDEO)

Surprise, surprise. Former Representative Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), who resigned from his position prior to his reelection bid for 2018, already has a new gig in television. You can have three guesses as to which network hired him, but you are only going to need one.

Of course it’s Fox News! Chaffetz began working for the network the day after he resigned on June 30. According to Politico, Chaffetz will join Fox News in order to:

“Offer political analysis across FNC and Fox Business Network’s (FBN) daytime and primetime programming.”

When Chaffetz was a Utah Representative, he served as the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) took over that committee once Chaffetz announced his resignation.

He was a frequent crusader against Hillary Clinton, continuing to probe issues like Benghazi and her email server usage. He even once claimed that, when compared to Clinton, Donald Trump’s sexual assault accusations were not all that bad.

He was also routinely mocked for accusing anti-Trump demonstrations for being packed with what he felt like were “paid protesters,” as well as claiming low income families should just purchase healthcare instead of a cellular phone.

He also tried to shift the White House blame away from the Michael Flynn-Russia debacle by suggesting that, of course, it was actually former President Barack Obama’s fault that Flynn was able to break the law.

There was much speculation as to why Chaffetz opted not to run for reelection, with much of it focused on him possibly being caught up in the ongoing Russia scandal. This new gig with Fox News will guarantee he maintains visibility with voters while possibly helping him avoid the brunt of that investigation.
