Grover Norquist is the head of the conservative group Americans for Tax Reform, and vehemently opposed to all taxes, no matter what they’re used for. Apparently Norquist thinks you can run a government and provide essential services to people by wishes and prayers.
On Sunday, Norquist sent out this tweet:
How Republicans are born…
Daughter, 8, has been savings up to buy her first Guitar.
Found it for $35. She had 35 exact.

Norquist’s tweet went viral in a hurry, but not in a way that reflected the least bit positively on him. More than 4,500 people reminded the anti-taxer exactly what taxes are used for:
Did you mention that you drove her to the guitar store on roads that were partly funded by sales taxes?

Others chastised Norquist for the entire premise of his posting and what it said about him as person:
