Queen Omits Important Details About Trump State Visit From Speech (VIDEO)

Queen Elizabeth II gave her speech to open the British Parliament this week and left out any mention of an upcoming State visit by President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania.

British Prime Minister Theresa May, who is now just barely clinging to power, invited President Donald Trump to visit when she was in Washington in January. Shortly after his inauguration, she asked him to visit the United Kingdom on behalf of the Queen, and he accepted.

In her address, Queen Elizabeth II said that she and her husband:

“…Look forward to welcoming their majesties King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain on a state visit in July.”

She did not, however mention any upcoming visit from the leader of the United States. This is significant in that this implies that the Trumps will not be visiting the United Kingdom for at least two years as this speech covers that time period.

Previously, the reason Trump’s planned visit to the United Kingdom had been delayed was due to the huge threat of protests and violence from the public. He canceled his proposed trip earlier this month.

By the end of January 2017, a petition to prevent Trump from visiting the United Kingdom was signed by over one million people, it currently has almost two million signatures.

The petition was closed in May 2017 due the election being called. The government responded to the petition, that consisted of an overwhelming number of people objecting to his visit, with this reply:

“HM Government believes the President of the United States should be extended the full courtesy of a State Visit. We look forward to welcoming President Trump once dates and arrangements are finalised.HM Government recognises the strong views expressed by the many signatories of this petition, but does not support this petition.

During her visit to the United States on 27 January 2017, the Prime Minister, on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen, invited President Trump for a State Visit to the UK later this year. The invitation was accepted. This invitation reflects the importance of the relationship between the United States of America and the United Kingdom. At this stage, final dates have not yet been agreed for the State Visit.

Foreign and Commonwealth Office.”

According to the Queen, this visit will not be any time soon. So perhaps they are looking at 2019, that is of course, if he is still in office.
