BREAKING: Police Officer Stabbed At Airport In Flint, Michigan (VIDEO)

A police officer was stabbed in the back and neck at an airport in Flint, Michigan. The airport has been evacuated, and additional officers have been stationed at city hall.

One suspect is in custody. The attacker allegedly shouted, “Allahu Akbar!” before stabbing the officer.

Flint Mayor Karen Weaver said:

“My thoughts and prayers are with all of our law enforcement officers who work to service and protect us each and every day.”

“I want the public to know that several agencies are involved and working to ensure the situation is under control.”

The FBI thinks this was an isolated incident, but they are investigating whether or not this was an act of terrorism. They said:

“We are aware of reports that the attacker made statements immediately prior to or while attacking the officer, but it is too early to determine the nature of these alleged statements or whether or not this was an act of terrorism.”

President Donald Trump has been briefed on the attack, but he has yet to tweet anything about it. Instead, he has been complaining about Obamacare in his tweets.

Governor Rick Snyder tweeted:

The officer, Lt. Jeff Neville was one of twelve police officers at the airport. There are six full-time and six part-time officers.

Neville is a father of two, and he has worked at the airport since 2000. He is in stable condition at this time. The attacker is from Quebec and has a Canadian passport.

Genesee County Commissioner Mark Young told NBC News:

“I spoke with his family up at the hospital, and he had completed surgery. He was still in recovery when I left the hospital.”

“I’d say we are feeling relieved that he’s in stable condition. This is something that police officers across the country — this is the Damocles that sits over every officer when they go out every day.”

Over 800,000 passengers went through the airport last year.
