Admit it: You’ve wondered, like most of us, what senior adviser and son-in-law to the president Jared Kushner sounds like when he speaks. We never hear the man speaking! It’s always just him sitting with his lips pursed, pretending he understands what’s being said around him, which is highly unlikely.
But wonder no more! On Monday, as part of a White House initiative to make the federal government run more efficiently, Kushner spoke at a press conference and announced:
“Our goal here is simple. We are here to improve the day-to-day lives of the average citizen. That’s a core promise and we are keeping it. Together, we will unleash the creativity of the private sector to provide citizen services in a way that has never happened before.”
And in what could well wind up serving as the biggest laugh line of the 21st century, Kushner added that the United States:
“Will be the global leader in the field making the government more transparent.”

Transparent? Really, Jared? How about we start with your father-in-law showing us his damn taxes!
Kushner got more than a bit of grief on social media, all of it well-deserved:
is it book report day at the white house?
