McAuliffe Hints That He May Be Getting Ready To Run In 2020 And Has Advice For Hillary (VIDEO)

Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe has boldly said that former Secretary of State and Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton has perhaps said enough. Recently speaking to Politico on Off Message podcast, McAuliffe believes it is now time to stop talking about the Democrat’s devastating loss in 2016 and look forward to 2020.

While McAuliffe agrees with Hillary on the many of the reasons she has given for her loss, he also said:

“We, as a party, need to understand what happened. My advice would be to Hillary, ‘There’s enough people that will do that and get that information out.’”

He is also a friend of former President Bill Clinton and speaks to him regularly. Bill Clinton has said he would support McAuliffe if he decided to run for president, but reportedly advised him that finishing strong in Virginia should be his main priority.

McAuliffe has said of his own intentions:

“I’m trying to run a progressive state, putting progressive values out there. At the same time, making sure everybody has an opportunity for a job. I call it more values and a moral structure than labeling anything. The values of open and welcoming: pro-women’s rights, pro-gay rights, pro-environment, anti-gun. Those are a value system. You know, that’s who I am.”

As for how he is seen by others, some have called him a ‘bizarro Trump’ – despite the two having political ideas that are quite different. The idea put forward is perhaps the Democrats need a character to beat President Donald Trump – their own ‘out of the box’ personality, to fight fire with fire. He is not afraid to tell Trump what he thinks.

McAuliffe says of himself:

“I have, luckily, boundless energy. I think everything is great. But yeah, I have fun. Listen, too many people are lemon suckers in politics today. I mean, at the end of the day, I have been successful by motivating people. People want to be with winners, not whiners.”

Nothing is confirmed yet and only time will tell, but perhaps we will see McAuliffe running in 2020.
