In the U.K., Tesco stores have released white Skittles packages for Pride month.
The candy brand has operated under the slogan, “Taste the Rainbow” for over 20 years. They are giving their rainbow to the LGBTQ community in solidarity.
Skittles did a similar move in 2016; however, this time it has gotten more mixed reviews. Some people are saying that these white packs are racist, which is ridiculous.
Tesco posted the following message with the packages:
“During Pride, only one rainbow matters. So, we’ve given up ours to show our support.”
Here are some of the reactions:
>Skittles launches limited edition white skittles to celebrate LGBT pride (giving away the rainbow)
>People are outraged they chose white ? pic.twitter.com/k2snO2qhJE

My dad says they are confusing and offensive to colour blind people, and that they look like ibuprofen

Can't believe people are actually trying to say that the white Skittles for Pride Month are racist/white supremacist
