James Comey’s Dad Gives His Opinion Of Trump — And He’s Basically All Of Us

When President Donald Trump met with Russian officials a couple of weeks ago, he apparently thought the Oval Office was fitted with the “Cone of Silence.”

He gave intelligence secrets to the Russians, and admitted that he had fired FBI Director James Comey because of all the pressure Comey was putting on him about his Russia ties.

Alas for the epically clueless Mr. Trump. There were White House notetakers in the room. They wrote it all down. Then they leaked it to the press, most likely because its so far beyond outrageous that the Prez did what he did and said what he said.

Among the many people who have reacted to the leaked memo with horror and anger is the 86 year old father of the fired FBI Director.

J. Brien Comey told the news site NorthJersey.com that although he is a lifelong Republican, he has never felt comfortable with Donald Trump. He made it clear that his low opinion of the current President predates the firing of his son, but now that Trump’s words about his son have gone public, he’s even more incensed.

When asked about the man who referred to his son as a “showboat”, a “grandstander” and a “nutjob,” the Senior Mr. Comey replied:

“I never was crazy about Trump. I’m convinced that he’s nuts. I thought he belonged in an institution. He was crazy before he became president. Now he’s really crazy.”

And Jim Comey’s father is not the only person in his circle who supports him. Many people in the New Jersey town of Allendale, where Comey grew up and where his father still lives, have only the highest praise for the former Director.

People who knew Comey in High School and beyond have talked about his honesty, his integrity, and his consistency. Under no circumstances does anyone in his world think of him as an attention seeking showboater.

Not one of them agrees with Trump’s assessment of Jim Comey a “nut job.”

But there are a lot of people in Allentown, and around the country, who definitely believe that Trump is worthy of all of those descriptions. An attention seeker, a person whose actions and words show a strong tendency to showboat and grandstand.

And definitely, absolutely, someone who can be accurately described as a “nut job.” E Brien Comey is one of those people.
