Arkansas AG Gets SHREDDED Online For Defending Trump’s Firing Of Comey With Bogus Excuses (TWEETS)

Before today, I have to admit I had never heard the name Leslie Rutledge, who is the Republican Attorney General of the state of Arkansas. And now that I’ve seen the way she attempted to defend the Con Man-in-Chief on CNN, I kind of wish I had never seen her make such a complete fool of herself.

Rutledge appeared on CNN to discuss the firing of FBI Director James Comey by Donald Trump last week, and from the minute she opened her mouth, it was clear she had no intention of saying anything but stale and disproven talking points, beginning by telling host Kate Bolduan:

“The American public, the bureau, the Attorney General, so many senators, members of Congress — on both sides of the aisle — had lost confidence in Director Comey, in his ability to do his job.”

And then Rutledge referenced the letter written by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein calling for Comey to be removed from his post. That’s when Bolduan reminded the Arkansas AG:

“That is a line that the White House gave right after the firing was announced. That reasoning though, just hours later, was contradicted by the president.

“The president himself said that he had the Russia investigation on his mind. His campaign is the subject of that Russia investigation and Comey was in charge of that Russia investigation. That doesn’t smell funny to you?”

Rutledge replied she was “confident” the Trump-Russia investigation would continue no matter what. Which led Bolduan to inquire:

“Do you support the president’s reasoning if it was all because of the Russia investigation?”

Unable to speak for a second, Rutledge finally spit out this morsel of overripe bullshit:

“I’ve not been convinced that is his reasoning. He stated immediately thereafter receiving Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein’s memorandum to him, after recieving the letter from Jeff Sessions, the attorney general, that those were the reasons for firing Comey.”

Shortly after her pathetic performance, many people on Twitter gave their thoughts on Attorney General Rutledge, and they didn’t mince words:

If you’re feeling brave, here’s the video from Rutledge’s appearance on CNN this morning:
