Trump Panics: Threatens Comey To Keep Him Quiet (VIDEO)

The office of the Presidency, no matter what country it is in, usually confers more than enough power for its occupant to feel secure. When the Presidency is that of the United States of America, the power that comes with it is awesome and nearly unassailable.

The vast majority of this country’s past Presidents have had enough professionalism and personal pride to wield that power with some subtlety.

Not this time, though. Not by a very long shot.

It’s abundantly clear to anyone looking at the situation honestly that Donald Trump fired the Director of the FBI because the Russia-Trump investigation was getting too close to the President.

A secure, professional, knowledgeable President would have known that firing the guy in charge of that investigation would only point more guilt toward the White House. There would no doubt have been some subtle, nuanced power moves behind the scenes, but a smart President wouldn’t alert the whole world to his personal sense of panic.

Trump fired FBI Director Comey with the lamest of excuses, which he changed every time someone pointed out that they made no sense. His shifting dance about why he got rid of the chief investigator into his own shady actions only made him look more guilty and more frantic.

Now that his earliest attempts to explain himself have been proven to be outright lies, Trump seems even more out of control. He has once again turned to Twitter to rattle his sabers and try to prove himself the biggest bully on the playground.

This time it was a not very veiled threat against Director Comey, who so far hasn’t said a single word in public about what happened.

That’s a pretty clear threat, huh?

And it brings even more attention to the obvious similarities between the actions of disgraced President Richard Nixon and those of Trump himself. They both fired the guy in charge of investigating how involved they were with a criminal act.

Nixon was brought down by a set of secret tapes that he made of conversations that took place in the Oval Office.

Now Trump has us all thinking we’re about to go through the same shady story again.

How is it possible that Donald Trump is so ham fisted and so crude that he would think it makes sense to make public threats?

I guess raw fear makes people do stupid things.
