Joy Reid Compared Ivanka Trump To The Ditzy Lead Character In ‘Clueless,’ And It Was PERFECT!

Ivanka Trump’s new book, Women Who Work, has been universally panned by reviewers, one of whom called it, “A pink-tinted sea of innocuous blandness.” And on her show Saturday, MSNBC host Joy Reid compared the first daughter to a well-known character from the world of film: Cher in the movie Clueless, commenting:

“Clueless. She’s rich, stylish, has a sunny disposition and diligently cares for her powerful father.

“She’s also a little too self-assured which, in the film, takes the form of cluelessly reading botched adages as tokens of advice. She says things that could be described as a ‘Strawberry milkshake of inspiration that feels like eating scented cotton balls.’ That’s how writers for the New York Times describe the new book by Ivanka Trump.”

But Reid was just warming up for her spot-on decimation of Ivanka, also noting:

“Her new book, ‘Women Who Work’ is surprisingly not ironic if you can believe it. Especially after reading passages of sage advice like this: ‘To master communication, ask questions and listen well.’  To communicate with her readers, Ivanka borrows heavily from other successful famous people: Sheryl Sandberg, Mark Twain, Nelson Mandela, and even Nietzsche shows up. She also takes these quotes completely out of context. For example, how do you tell wealthy women how to manage their e-mails? Well, you compare it to slavery and quote Toni Morrison. Seriously. Before asking her readers, ‘Are you a slave to your time or the master of it?’ she quotes ‘Beloved,’ a novel about psychological ghosts of slavery. Freeing yourself was one thing, claiming ownership of that freed self is another.”

As if spoiled little rich girl Ivanka Trump has any freaking clue what it’s like to be African-American, destitute, and subjected to racism at every turn. About the only thing Ivanka has to fret over is breaking a fingernail when she’s opening a birthday card from daddy, who is known, in true perv fashion, to comment on how sexy his little girl is.

Ivanka, spare us your pointless, vapid bullshit. We get more than enough inanity from your brain-dead, sexual predator father.
