WATCH A GOP Congresswoman Prove She Hasn’t Read The Healthcare Bill She’s About To Vote For

Republicans are desperate to give Donald Trump at least one legislative victory before his 100th day in office arrives on Saturday, and now it appears they’re so anxious to pretend they and the alleged president are doing something productive that they don’t even bother to read proposed legislation.

Thursday afternoon on CNN, Tennessee GOP Congresswoman Diane Black was discussing the latest version of healthcare reform (aka taking away health insurance from tens of millions) with Jake Tapper when the host told Black:

“I have to say, the public knows nothing — next to nothing about this legislation, and obviously it will impact tens, if not hundreds of millions of Americans. Would it not be better to have discussion and debate and hearings about this bill instead of what looks like rushing it through to meet this 100-day deadline?”

Black then proved she hadn’t read the newest iteration of Trumpcare, known as Trumpcare 3.0, because she began rambling on about the previous version, which was pulled because there weren’t enough votes to pass it:

“Oh, my goodness, Jake. We had a lot of discussions. Our ways and means committee went until 4:00 a.m. I think we had something like 18 hours of debate, even more than that in the energy and commerce committee.”

Tapper then informed the confused Republican:

“This is different legislation. It might be based on the previous legislation, but it has been changed.”

The Tennessee Republican attempted to recover, saying that Tapper was right, but then she added the new bill was “basically what you saw come out of committee.”

Yes, and we’re all basically as intelligent as Stephen Hawking, we just never got around to getting our Ph.D in physics or theorizing on the origins of the universe.
