While some conservatives continue to maintain that Donald Trump’s daughter, Ivanka, has a moderating influence on him when it comes to issues involving women, you need only remember a few of the things the alleged president has said to realize that’s one hell of a joke:
- “You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful women — I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it, you can do anything. Grab them by the p***y, you can do anything.”
- [Arianna Huffington] is unattractive both inside and out. I fully understand why her former husband left her for a man- he made a good decision.”
- “It doesn’t really matter what (they) write as long as you’ve got a young and beautiful piece of ass”
And yet, during a panel discussion on CNN Wednesday, longtime Trump supporter and conservative activist Paris Dennard got very upset when Democratic strategist Jonathan Tasini dared to tell the truth about the Sexual Harasser-in Chief, remarking:
“Donald Trump is a sexual predator. People, women, see Donald Trump as a disgusting human being.”
To that, Dennard whined:
“I do not believe that Ivanaka Trump is irrelevant. And I am tired of liberals … coming on television and demeaning the work of these women who happen to be Republican, or happen to be working with the Trump administration.”
CNN host Don Lemon then asked Dennard:
“Why weren’t you tired of the president demeaning women?”
Either in deep denial or just deciding an outright lie was needed, Dennard replied:
“I didn’t hear the president demean women when he was running for president!”
Tasini then reminded Dennard about the infamous Access Hollywood tape where Trump said he liked to grab women “by the pussy.” Getting more upset by the second, Dennard responded:
“That was not while he was running for president! Candidate Trump did not demean women when he was president.”
What a convenient–and ridiculous–defense Dennard chose to employ: Since Trump didn’t say the objectionable things while running for office, they don’t count. Damn, that’s almost as ludicrous as some of the lies Trump himself tells.
