People have criticized Congress for not being tough enough with the Russian investigation. As it turns out, there might be a reason.
Kompromat
Congressman Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) is the House Oversight Committee Chairman. While many would like to see him move forward with the Russian investigation, he’s actually defended President Donald Trump. Some say it’s because they’re both Republicans, but recent allegations suggest something much deeper.
Louise Mensch used to work for the British Parliament and according to her official Twitter account, is a “Russian Insider.” She recently tweeted that Russia has intel on Chaffetz that’s keeping him quiet:
Sources say there is kompromat on @jasoninthehouse; that this is why he turned and that @fbi know it. #traitorinthehouse

While it’s unclear as to what the kompromat consists of, it’s worth noting that Chaffetz has financial ties to Russia.
Pyramind Scheme
Nu Skin is considered to be a Multi-Level Marketeing company, or MLM. It’s basically a legal Ponzi scheme. Employees buy their products and then sell them at a higher price. In return, they proceed to ask others to buy into their business with the promise of a profit.
Everyone involved does the exact same thing, creating a pyramid effect.
This company helped fund Chaffetz’s campaigns in Utah, to the point where they pretty much own him. Nu Skin has also settled lawsuits for millions of dollars. They don’t just operate in the United States, though.
They’re actively trying to expand their business in Russia, too.
Possible Arrests
Everyday it seems as though there are more Russian connections, yet no arrests. According to some reliable sources, that could change this week.
A Constitutional lawyer tweeted:

Mensche backed up that tweet:

All of this comes after the FBI announced they’ve been surveilling Carter Page for almost a year. Page is a former Trump campaign adviser who is suspected of working with the Russians to lift sanctions.
At first he denied that by saying:
“Absolutely not. I never offered that. Nothing along those lines. Absolutely not.”
When probed further during the same interview he said:
“Something may have come up in a conversation. I have no recollection, and there’s nothing specifically that I would have done that would have given people that impression.”
Perhaps we’ll see some action being taken by the end of this week.
