Democratic Strategist: GOP Aiding The Kremlin By Failing To Impeach Trump (VIDEO)

Even though it now seems clear that several members of the Trump team had contact with Russian officials during the 2016 campaign and also after the election, there hasn’t been a peep out of Republicans suggesting that perhaps Donald Trump himself is up to his eyebrows in the growing scandal which threatens to consume his administration.

While the House Intelligence Committee has begun hearings on the Trump-Russia matter, the actions of its chairman, Devin Nunes last week when he personally went to the White House to discuss the investigation with the so-called president prove that this attempt to get to the bottom of the matter are probably doomed.

And Democratic strategist Jennifer Palmieri says GOP inaction on the issue is only strengthening the Russians.

Appearing on MSNBC Monday morning, Palmieri commented:

“This is a president of the United States who was elected with a semi-hostile state interfering in our election to assist him,” she said. “I still feel like we are slumbering through this process.”

Palmieri also noted that had George W. Bush done something similar to the alleged collusion between Trump and the Russians, he would have been impeached in short order:

“We took George Bush seriously and we do not take this president seriously. We have a soft complicity of low expectations. We do not expect a lot from him.

“Democrats are doing a good bit in Congress on this, but what I really think they should do is hit Republicans at home about it. If you are Republicans that talk about leaks as opposed to wanting to get to the bottom of how Russia did this, they are helping prop up the Kremlin. They are doing what the Kremlin wants them to do.”

The GOP, unless they take the potentially traitorous actions of the Trump campaign seriously, are complicit in giving aid and comfort to Vladimir Putin and the Russians. History will not treat them kindly if they don’t begin to act very soon.
