United Airlines Tries To Enforce Ridiculous Clothing Rule (VIDEO)

United Airlines kicked a group of girls off of a flight for their clothing. Schools are Imposing strict clothing guidelines for kids, so why not airlines now?

Gate agents at United Airlines wouldn’t let two girls enter their flight because they were wearing leggings.

Fellow passenger and founder of the gun control group, Moms Demand Action, live-tweeted the incident.

Watts also said:

“She’s forcing them to change or put dresses on over leggings or they can’t board. Since when does @united police women’s clothing?”

United Airlines responded with:

“We do have the right to refuse transport for passengers who are barefoot or not properly clothed.”

The girls were relatives of United Airlines employees, so they were being “held to a different standard.”

According to United Airlines’ website, the only rule they have involving passengers’ clothing is:

“… Passengers who are barefoot or not properly clothed.”

The dress code for pass travellers is:

  • “Pass riders’ overall appearance should be well-groomed, neat, clean and in good taste.”
  • “Attire should be respectful of fellow revenue passengers, employees and pass riders.”
  • “Pass riders may wear denim attire (such as jeans), shorts that are no more than three inches above the knee and athletic shoes when traveling in Coach or Business cabin.”

One of the things banned on United for pass travellers is:

“…Form-fitting lycra/spandex tops, pants and dresses…”

United Airlines spokesman Jonathan Guerin pointed that these two teens, who were deemed “pass travellers,” were being treated differently than normal passengers:

“Our regular passengers are not going to be denied boarding because they are wearing leggings or yoga pants. But when flying as a pass traveller, we require these pass travellers to follow rules, and that is one of those rules.”

“They were not compliant with the dress policy with the benefit. This morning, the attire of the pass travellers on this flight didn’t meet the dress code policy.”

These two teens were forced to find dresses to cover up the leggings. I don’t understand what the big problem with leggings is. As long as their underwear wasn’t showing, then they should’ve been allowed to fly. I’m sure no one else cared what they were wearing.

Schools have also banned leggings for various reasons. Most of these involve the fact that leggings are form-fitting.
