Former GOP Congressman Says Trump Doesn’t Even Know What’s In Trumpcare Bill (VIDEO)

Today on Capitol Hill, we learn the fate of Donald Trump’s first major legislative initiative, the repeal and replacement of the Affordable Care Act, aka Obamacare. And it could well determine whether or not the remainder of the Trump administration will merely be a failure or a giant catastrophe.

Some Trump supporters are warning GOP members of the House of Representatives that voting for the Trumpcare bill could have negative consequences for the entire party in the midterm elections next year.

One of those is former Republican Congressman Joe Walsh, who appeared on MSNBC Thursday morning and said the bill is a “bad deal for Republicans.” Walsh then added:

“They are going to try and tell us it’s repealing Obamacare, but it’s not. The truth here is, the Republican party really does not want to repeal Obamacare, that’s why we’ve got this mess of a bill.

“This is the stupid game that D.C. plays. It’s got nothing to do with the policy.”

And Walsh said he doesn’t even think Trump knows what’s in the bill:

“I don’t think Donald Trump really knows what’s in this bill, he just wants a victory. This victory…is going to bite Republicans in the butt in 2018.”

Host Stephanie Ruhle also asked Walsh about the actions of the chair of the House Intelligence Committee, Devin Nunes, who on Tuesday went directly to the White House with new information on “incidental” surveillance of Trump which took place during the transition. To that, Walsh remarked:

“He oughta step down as the head of the intel committee. We need a special independent commission to look into all of this.”

How right Walsh is. And he’s also right that the Trumpcare bill will be hung around the necks of Republicans in the 2018 midterms. If millions of people lose their health insurance or see their premiums and co-pays increase, Trump will be facing a Democratic Congress which will be ready to check him on everything he says and does.
