A group of racist, bigoted jerks has spread nasty posters promoting white nationalism around the University of Maryland. The posters tell white people that:
“… It is your civic duty to report any and all illegal aliens to U.S. immigration and customs enforcement.”
Some of the posters say:
“They are criminals. America is a white nation.”
Professor Osvaldo Gutierrez, who discovered the posters at the University of Maryland, said:
“You hear about this stuff on the news, but I never really imagined it happening here. It’s really disturbing, and it’s not something you want to see, especially as a person of color.”
The posters mention the website for the group, Blood and Soil. They are absolutely racist and believe that we should be a “white nation.” The University’s statement read in part:
“The white nationalist posters found on college campuses, including our own, contain detestable language that is an affront to who we are, and what we stand for, as the State’s flagship university. As a community, we stand for excellence, diversity, and inclusion. We stand against all forms of ignorance and hate.”
They also show white people on the posters that were seen around campus. The posters encourage other white people to report non-white people to the authorities.
Another group shown on some of the signs was Vanguard America. Their signs talk about raising awareness and advocate for the Nationalist Socialist “solution” to their problems.
Todd A. Olson, vice-president of student affairs at Georgetown, said that the police are investigating the incident. They also give the phone numbers to report hate crimes on their campuses.
These signs were seen at the University of Maryland, Georgetown University, and as many as 100 universities across the country.
Olson said:
“… We are a community that welcomes all people and that values understanding, dignity, inclusion and respect. Anyone with information about this campaign on our campus should report it to GUPD at 202-687-4343.”
