Jerkweed Jason Chaffetz Says Low-Income People Should Buy Healthcare Instead Of ‘That New iPhone’ (VIDEO)

Even though we already knew GOP Congressman Jason Chaffetz was a heartless douchenozzle who doesn’t give a damn about anyone but himself and his rich campaign contributors, Chaffetz sunk to a new low during an interview on CNN earlier this morning.

Chaffetz was on CNN to discuss the Republican replacement bill for Obamacare, and rather than get into specifics, he decided to give low-income Americans a lecture on personal responsibility, commenting:

“You know what, Americans have choices, and they’ve got to make a choice. And so maybe, rather than getting that new iPhone that they just love and want to go spend hundreds of dollars on, maybe they should invest in their own healthcare.”

If they’re paying the premiums for health insurance, they are investing in their own health, you pathetic weasel!

Host Alisyn Camerota asked Chaffetz if it was fair to say that under the Republican plan Americans would have more access to healthcare but less coverage. Chaffetz replied:

“Well, yes. I think that’s fair. We just saw the bill as of yesterday. We’re just starting to consume it. We will have to look at how that analysis moves forward.”

Later in the interview, Chaffetz realized he had sounded like a greedy shill of the healthcare industry and tried to moderate his remarks:

“What we’re trying to say — and maybe I didn’t say it as smoothly as I possibly could — but people need to make a conscious choice, and I believe in self-reliance. They’re going to have to make those decisions.

“We want them to have their communication equipment too, but it’s frustrating.”

What’s really frustrating is hacks like Jason Chaffetz refusing to admit the real reason they want to repeal the Affordable Care Act: So they can give a giant tax cut to their billionaire benefactors. Those taxes currently help pay for the subsidies which allow average Americans to afford a policy. As long as the super rich get that tax cut, Chaffetz doesn’t care who dies or goes bankrupt when they get sick.
