Iranian Filmmaker Wins Oscar, So Right-Wing As*hats Decided To Attack Him On Twitter (TWEETS)

The BIG news out of the 89th Academy Awards on Sunday night was the mix-up which made it appear that La La Land had won Best Picture, when in fact Moonlight was the winner. But earlier in the evening, a statement from an Iranian filmmaker wound up upsetting the delicate buttercup right-wing douchenozzles in the viewing audience.

Asghar Farhadi won the Oscar for best foreign film for The Salesman, but he didn’t attend the award ceremony in Los Angeles to protest the Trump’s administration’s controversial Muslim ban, which has been put on indefinite hold by a federal judge. Instead, Farhadi sent a statement which was read on his behalf:

“Dividing the world into the us and our enemies categories creates fear. A deceitful justification for aggression and war. These wars prevent democracy and human rights in countries which have themselves been victims of aggression.”

Within minutes, conservatives crawled out from their safe spaces and began tweeting:

Fortunately, saner voices were also heard in response to the bile that was pumped out by right wingers:

Ever notice how lots of conservatives believe the First Amendment only applies to them? They’re the same ones who support Trump and think Russia has our best interests at heart.
