Trump Being Trolled Nationwide With ‘Impeach President Bannon’ Signs

Even though Donald Trump was named the 45th president, it appears that the real power within the Oval Office resides in the person of senior counselor Steve Bannon, who is said to be involved in every decision Trump makes.

So it seems only fitting that across the country signs are popping up that read:

“IMPEACH PRESIDENT BANNON”

The signs have been spotted in New York City, Washington, D.C., Baltimore, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Organizers of the campaign behind the signs told The Hill:

“No one voted for Steve Bannon. Yet he is the de-facto 45th President of the United States.”

Most of all, the organizers are hoping they’ll get a rise and a response out of Trump, who is known to use Twitter as his primary means of communication. As one of the guerrilla campaign activists noted:

“Maybe we’ll encourage an angry tweet or two. Maybe even get Trump to say his two favorite words to Bannon, ‘You’re Fired.’”

Bannon has been active in the month since Trump took office. And his power within the White House has grown steadily. Trump appointed him to the National Security Council, sought his guidance before issuing the controversial Muslim travel ban, and also reportedly has him sign off on any major appointments of staff.

Though Bannon, the former CEO of the far-right website Breitbart.com, was expected to maintain a low profile within the administration, he has spoken out on a few occasions since arriving in Washington. In January, Bannon told the New York Times:

“The media should be embarrassed and humiliated and keep its mouth shut and just listen for awhile.

“I want you to quote this. The media here is the opposition party. They don’t understand this country. They still do not understand why Donald Trump is the president of the United States.”

Trump seemed to echo and expand on those remarks last week, tweeting out this controversial condemnation of the Fourth Estate:
