Liar-In-Chief Cites Non-Existent Terror Attack In Sweden To Justify Muslim Ban, Gets Slammed On Twitter

During a rally he held Saturday in Melbourne, Florida, Donald Trump thought it would be a good idea to use a recent terrorist attack he said took place in Sweden as justification for his controversial Muslim ban, which has been struck down in two federal courts:

“When you look at what’s happening in Germany, when you look at what’s happening last night in Sweden — Sweden! Who would believe this? Sweden!

“They took in large numbers, they’re having problems like they never like they never thought possible.”

There was no terror attack in Sweden on Friday. And the former Swedish Prime Minister Carl Bildt fired back at Trump via the so-called president’s favorite social media platform, Twitter:

Trump appears to be following in the eternally ditzy footsteps of senior White House adviser Kellyanne Conway, who recently referred to the “Bowling Green Massacre,” yet another fictional terror attack which Conway maintained took place on American soil. That led to another line of ridicule for Trump on Twitter:

And let’s not forget to mention that Sean Spicer, the perpetually confounded White House Press Secretary recently made reference to a fictional terror attack in Atlanta. Called out for his mistake, Spicer said he had meant to say Orlando. Yeah, because those two sound sooooo similar, don’t they?

The only real question that remains is this one: Did Trump deliberately lie about an attack in Sweden, or is he so damn stupid that he thought one had happened because of some crap he saw on Fox News? Or is it a little bit of both?

Whatever the case, we stand united with our friends and allies in Sweden. We will be flying our flags at three-quarters staff just in case someone gets injured by a stray meatball.
