GOP Is Now Complaining That They Can’t Be Blatantly Offensive To Native Americans (VIDEO)

It should come as no surprise that a republican is upset that America cannot continue to promote racism.

Former President Barack Obama decided that it was time to get rid of an offensive creek name. Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge will soon be changed to Loess Bluff National Wildlife Refuge.

That’s because ‘squaw’ is considered to be a Native American racial slur. Isn’t it bad enough we took their land?

Local residents in Mound City, Missouri are up in arms over the name change. Republican Congressman Sam Graves is showing his white privilege and vows to fight it.

The white man said:

“This is a ridiculous overreach of federal power, and we’re prepared to do whatever possible to stop it from happening.”

Translation: Whites are offended that Native Americans are offended by nearly a century of racism. The creek was established in 1935.

So not only do we have a fascist president determined to go through with the Dakota Access Pipeline, we now have a congressman who is so hung up with his white pride that he can’t stand to see the name of a creek change.

To clarify, everything else will remain the same. It will still consist of 7,400 acres in the Missouri River floodplain. It will still have birds taking a pit stop while migrating, too.

In fact, the only thing that will change is the signage and literature. It’s a fairly lame argument from the party that usually doesn’t even care about the environment.

Dan Ashe, the director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service that will go through with the change, said:

“While the creek is an important part of refuge hydrology and related habitats, and is steeped in history and local lore, the word ‘squaw’ is offensive in contemporary context and is no longer an acceptable name in the National Wildlife Refuge System.”

As of January 11, Graves has 60 days to repeal the name change. Two months to convince people that it’s better to keep offending Native Americans than to change it to something more appropriate.
