The Beat Goes On: Kmart, Sears Drop Trump Home Products From Websites

Donald Trump probably had visions that the value of everything with his last name attached to it would skyrocket the minute he took office, but things aren’t turning out that way, and the alleged president got more bad news Saturday when both Kmart and Sears announced they would no longer sell Trump Home products on their websites.

A spokesperson for Sears Holdings told Business Insider:

“As part of the company’s initiative to optimize its online product assortment, we constantly refine that assortment to focus on our most profitable items. Amid that streamlining effort, 31 Trump Home items were among the items removed online this week. Products from the line are still offered online via third-party Marketplace vendors.”

But the action from the two retail chains would appear to be the result of the #GrabYourWallet boycott movement which urges consumers to boycott all companies that sell Trump products. On Friday, #GrabYouWallet co-founder Shannon Coulter posted this on Twitter:

This is just the latest terrible business news for the Trump family this week. Nordstrom, Belk, TJMaxx, and Neiman Marcus have also said they will no longer carry the First Daughter’s clothing line in their stories because sales of the items has decreased dramatically.

The so-called president had a hissy fit online when Nordstrom made their announcement, tweeting out:

Ironically, Nordstrom stock skyrocketed seven percent higher the day the orange-tinted head of state attacked the retailer.

By the time Trump leaves office–which could be much sooner than the standard four-year term–it will be interesting to see if any company in the world will be willing to associate itself with the Trump name or brand. How ironic it would be if Trump becomes the Typhoid Mary of the business world.
